I don’t think so. I had cable internet with a wireless modem but couldn’t get it to work. I had to run an ethernet cable straight from the main router to my room into my ps2

Is your router completely wireless? or are there some wired ports?
if there are wired ports, then just connect via ethernet, otherwise i think your best and cheapest bet is to buy a cheap wired/wireless router, i know D-link has one for under $50

In the back of your ps2 you need to plug a wireless transmitter, then it will work. (Ethernet only, not usb)

YES YES YES YES YES you can.

You need a wireless ethernet adapter such as the linksys WGA54G, the links to the linksys site is below.

You simply plug in the power, plug it into the PS2′s ethernet port and follow the instructions and hey presto, online without wires.

And just so you know, you do have broadband. Broadband is a way to describe the speed, givent he equipment you have I would say you have broadband as generally wireless routers that connect to a modem are very hard to come by and very very VERY expensive.
