Okay here’s the deal, I want to have a wireless network, however I’m not sure if the wireless router requires a computer to be connected to all the time.

No the router does not require this, but you will probobly need to wire one to it to do the initial programing.

well, heres the answer: yes and no. if you have cable internet, most of the time the cable company offers a wireless router, and bam, wireless network available. the dsl router, you have to have a computer that you are not going to make mobile, i.e. your desktop, or a non-wireless laptop, pre 2004…and plug in a ethernet cord into your processor into a wireless router, i.e. linksys, which you can buy at wal-mart, and then plug another ethernet cord from your original dsl or cable modem into the wireless router. you do have to install a cd in the non wireless computer only, in order for the wireless network to work. after that, you should be set.

The answer is NO. You do not need 2 computers to have a wireless network. The network can exist with 1 wirelees connection. The router only needs a computer wired to it for configuration purposes.
