Home Alarm: How do I turn BEEP noise from control panel down or off that emits when entering alarm code?
Mad Chiller asked:
I have a “safewatch plus” home alarm system by ADT. I do not have it monitored, but it functions properly. I have been able to turn the “chimes” off that sound when opening a door, but it makes a loud BEEP when you enter each code numeral into the panel and wakes my baby boy. Is there any way I can turn the BEEP down or off without paying $135 per hr. for a tech to come to my house and do it?

Would it be easy to relocate panel to another wall if your “handy?”

Chances are you can’t turn the beep down. Perhaps, though you could mute the sound. The sounder may be visible from the front of the panel, but may be hidden behind it. Maybe you can insulate it to kill the volume. Of course, you could snip the wire or circuit board trace to it, but that would be permanent.
Moving it would not be a big problem. You should put tags on the wires, though, so it will be easy to reconnect them.
