How to extent wireless home networking range?
^ ³ asked:
I put my 802.11g MIMO range-plus wireless router at the center of my house. I still can’t get reliable signal strength at four corners. I bought an extra router and tried to extend the communication range. I read user manual and changed one of router to “Access Point” mode. Two routers can’t talk to each other unless “wired”.

How can I “wirelessly” extend communication range? Anybody knows how does motel do this thing?

Go to best buy and get a larger antenna for your router.

You need to set one router to “repeater” mode – most routers don’t have a repeater mode, so you’d need a WRT54G and 3rd party firmware.
Motels either use high-gain, omnidirectional antennas, slot antennas (you can run a slot antenna for miles – it’s how you continue to get an FM or cellular signal in a tunnel) or repeaters, depending on the individual situation.
