krispatel16 asked: Planning to get one! Was thinking if I did not have to run wires accross the room. Trying to find out if wireless home theater is worth giving a bet ..!??
It would be nice if someone who has this kind of system could share his/her experience with it!
Thanks.

“Is wireless home theater worth it?” – No
“Is it as good as the wired one?” – No

Try it, if not take it back, I think the quality may be lacking. However I would make sure it had THX. You can’t go wrong w/Pioneer.

the problem withwireless is that the biggest effect on sound quality is really in the speaker wire in my opinion. and the wireless system is about as good as 22 guage wire (crap wire), you want to get a wired system, and exchange the wire for probably a 14 or 16 guage wire. (the lower the number the thicker and better) but 12 guage is excessive and wont fit in some systems.
i am assuming you were considering the panasonic sc ht series right? they are good home theaters in a box, but they are more expensive purely because you can make them wireless, you should save yourself $100 and get one that can not be wireless because it isnt worth it anyway, i got the TH-C50 by JVC recently, its great.

Whether you have a wired system or wireless system depends on you and you needs.
If you don’t like to fool around with a lot of wires and think that a lot of wires showing looks ugly with your decor, then wireless would be they way to go. The only pitfalls that I can think of is (1) sometime the wireless speakers like wireless headphones can pick up interference due to the low frequency, (2) sometimes in addition to your surround system you have to also purchase a transmitter for wireless speakers sound at an additional cost. Never heard of a totally wireless speakers for surround sound, just wireless rear speakers.

Well wireless home theater at the present technology level is not anywhere near the quality of a similarly priced wired system.
